Why Are We The Number One? / Our History

The E-ZPass® Interagency Group (IAG) was formed in 1990 with three states (New York, New Jersey & Port Authority of New York and New Jersey) and seven agencies (Pennsylvania Turnpike, Port Authority of NY & NJ, New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, MTA Bridges & Tunnel, New York State Thruway, and Atlantic City Expressway). The first deployment of E-ZPass® was on the New York State Thruway at the Spring Valley barrier on August 3, 1993.

The IAG currently has over 10 million account holders who utilize more than 17 million transponders operating electronic toll collection for 24 agencies in 13 states. The more than 10 million account holders reside throughout North America with thousands in each state and province including the States of Hawaii and Alaska. Today 24 member agencies operate E-ZPass on 47 roads, bridges and tunnels in the Northeast and Midwest. These members are growing monthly. Thats why we are the number one Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) group in the world!

This site is intended to help you find the right agency to handle your account if you have one already or help you sign up for one. Please make us aware of any problems that you encounter in contacting your home agency. Thank you for using E-ZPass®.
